Hardback Shellon

Hardback Shellon

(Keepers of Stone and Time)

Overview

The Hardback Shellon dwell in highland forests, cliffside sanctuaries, and moss-covered plateaus. They are stoic and immovable, often serving as judges, lorekeepers, or spiritual leaders. Their connection to the land is deep, and they believe wisdom is like stone — formed slowly, unyielding to storm or flame.

Physical Traits

Hardbacks have thick, dome-shaped shells with natural moss or lichen growth. Skin tones range from earthen brown to pale greenish-gray, and their eyes often appear faded, like they've seen centuries pass. Their limbs are thick and slow-moving, hiding great strength beneath.

Culture and Society

Hardbacks live by patience and ritual. They speak with gravity, often pausing to consider each word. Many serve as temple wardens, ancestral historians, or stewards of sacred places. Their homes are carved into cliffs or ancient groves, where time flows like water over stone. Though peaceful, they are living bulwarks when roused — defenders of the old ways.

Faith and Beliefs

They often venerate gods of earth, wisdom, and time such as Oakenfell or Mouren. Sacred stones are etched with layered prayers and carved slowly over decades, forming spiritual “archives” of knowledge and legacy.

Playing a Hardback Shellon

To play a Hardback is to embody stillness with purpose. Perhaps you are a wandering shell-sage, a stalwart guardian, or a seer of deep truths. Every step is measured. Every word, a ripple. Consider what you protect — and what ancient memory lingers within your shell.
