Velgarin (Vel - Garr - In)

The Velgarin Peoples   For as long as bards have sung of Veth’Arden, the Velgarin have walked, flown, and swum across its breadth. They are not one folk but a grand menagerie of kindreds—bear‑hewn Ursain wandering icy trails, winged Vespari guiding travelers through cavern dark, shark‑blooded Valtari slicing cold currents far from any shore. Chroniclers once mistook these lineages for separate creations; modern lorekeepers instead trace them to a shared genesis in the Age of First Light, when primal magic and the Verdant Warden’s blessing coaxed mortal spirits into bodies that mirrored the realm’s fiercest beasts.   Across eras the Velgarin have served as boundary keepers between civilization and untamed wild. Their caravans ferried obsidian and spice before human citadels rose, and their long‑memory sagas still teach that every claw, fin, or feather is a covenant: “Guard the balance, take only what you need, honour the kin beneath another hide.” While an Ursain clan’s midsummer moot feels worlds apart from a desert Solkaris caravansary, every Velgarin hearth circles back to that oath—shared songs by different voices.   Scholars group the lineages by the echoes in their hides. Yet when two beast‑folk meet upon the road they greet each other simply as kin, for all remember the Great Fracturing that scattered them into myriad forms so that life might thrive in every corner of Veth’Arden.
