Zahra Nyoka -Ravel
Ravel Nyoka
Physical Description:
The Rainforest Nyoka, sometimes called the Jungle Serpents, are a subrace of the Velgares perfectly suited for the dense, humid environments of Ravel's rainforests. Their physical attributes reflect the characteristics of venomous rainforest vipers and the sheer strength of constrictors, blending grace with deadly precision.
Body: Rainforest Nyoka have long, muscular bodies, similar in size to their desert cousins, ranging from 6 to 9 feet in length. Their scales are smooth, and their colors range from deep greens and browns to camouflage them within the vibrant foliage of the rainforest. This allows them to blend seamlessly into the trees, vines, and underbrush of their environment.
Head: Their heads are wider and more triangular than their desert kin, with retractable fangs that deliver venom when they strike. Their eyes, varying in hues of emerald or dark amber, are adapted to the low light of the rainforest canopy. Like all Nyoka, they possess heat-sensitive pits for detecting nearby prey or enemies.
Tail: The Rainforest Nyoka’s tail is long and muscular, capable of wrapping around branches or prey for stability and constriction. Instead of rattles, their tails are tipped with small, hard scales that provide balance and allow them to cling to surfaces as they climb.
Limbs: While they lack traditional limbs, their muscular bodies and ability to coil give them immense strength. They are adept at climbing trees and moving with fluid precision, able to strike swiftly from the dense undergrowth or drop from above onto unsuspecting prey.
Cultural Adornments:
Rainforest Nyoka adorn themselves with intricate jewelry and armor pieces crafted from jungle flora and fauna, such as woven vines, carved wood, feathers, and vibrant gemstones. Their culture often revolves around the balance of nature and their role as apex predators in their domain.
