The Screaming Cavern
The Screaming Cavern is a long, narrow, and winding passage that leads from The Scorched Fort to The Foxhole. It gains it's name from the sound that is made in high winds, although many locals say that it is named for the many deaths that occur in the cavern. The cavern is known for how dangerous it is, partly from the environmental hazards such as long drops, avalanches, and cold, but also from the monsters and creatures that prey upon travellers, including ghosts, various spiders, ogres, and occasionally giants. It takes 8 days to traverse the cavern by foot, or 5 when mounted, although it is only possible to use specialised mounts such as mountain goats or specially trained donkeys.
