Rhôkairn
Nestled against the eastern mountains of the lower Hollowspire Mountains lies the small city of Rhôkairn, a desert population center chock full of religious zealotry and flame inspired idolatry.
Growing westward, away from the mountains and the massive ziggurat built partly into the bedrock of Mount Narbright, this small burg was purpose built, in 815 ACI, to accomodate Ignazz's growing cult following. The buildings and other accomodations are erected with fitted adobe bricks that have been chinked with oiled sisal twine and caulked with clay. Each building can house four or five families with ease, sometimes even more, and they are constructed in such a manner as to foster community, with yards built around wells, and streets paved with cobblestones to help keep the dust down. Each block of the city has its very own well, sometimes even two or three of them, and an underground cesspool system that has been engineered to keep waste seperate from the drinking water supply. There are wind catchers for each building, to keep the interiors cool enough to live within, and food storage for each domicile.
Each citizen of the city is allotted a pound of salt per month, and a gallon of drinking water per day. Food is distributed each morning, at each of the city's blocks, by custodians in white muslin robes who wear black and white checked headscarves as symbols of their station.
Goats, branded with their owner's mark, roam the city streets freely, and one is far more likely to witness a string of camels moseying down a given street than they are to see a horse and rider. Many of the people in the city own at least one goat.
Many rooftops in the small urban area house tiny gardens where people grow spices, herbs, and small vegetables in large flower pots. These are watered using moisture traps that are set out overnight, and taken in each morning. Curries and melanges are made using these hardy desert plants that create a flavor palette that is not unpleasant, and is unique to Rhô.
There is no street food in Rhôkairn, though there are cool water vendors , and no end of tea shops. Alcohol and other intoxicants being unlawful to the general population, these tea shops are the focal point of the city's night life. People gather there nightly to chat, play music, and sip aromatic infusions until the midnight curfew warning rings out at eleven bells past noon.
Demographics
The population is almost entirely human, with some half-elves interspersed throughout.
NOTE: Elves are the "serving class" of Rhô, being at the bottom of the social hierarchy.
Government
Run by those who believe wholeheartedly in Ignazz's vision for the future, those affiliated with The Etched are afforded priveleges that are unavailable to other city dwellers.
Infrastructure
The city is remarkably well planned out and executed; Ignazz is uninterested in dealing with the drama of unhealthy worshippers. In fact, he wants them as healthy as possible, so that they can work and have children.
Districts
The city is built in blocks of twelve to fourteen buildings, on average. These blocks are situated around drinking water wells. Waste is directed into cesspools that are engineered and placed in such a way as to
