Now its slowly decaying away due to the cities finding better things to buy, its a 12th of its original size with barely 200 people living in it anymore. History

The place was founded by "The Old Lord" the current villagers don't know much about him or his family as they've been dead for several generations at this point.

The Old Lord was very religeous and had several Churches and Catherderals built in the nearby area, all but 1 have been abandoned and most have had thier location forgotten.

Whalesfore was a whaling town, they fished for drought-whales. These whales offered several dozen different goods, the most prized among these were enchanted whale oil.

Enchanted whale oil was a miracle substance for the big citties, its flames wouldn't blow out in a gale but could be extinguished with a gentle breath, it could burn for 3 days straight before running out and it didn't burn hot enough to hurt someone who touches it. It also was a mighty fine lubricant and useful in potions.

Enchanted whale oil took an half a drought-whale worth of lubber to make only a single bottle, due to this (And its properties) it was very expensive at its peak.

Sadly one day the cities found something else to light thier streets, it worked better, it was safer, it was brighter and it was cheaper. So the town slowly started to die economicaly as the cities stopped buying and there were less drought-whales than ever before.

That was 18 years ago. In the midst of the Continental War. Since then the town has gotten smaller and smaller, more and more people have simply jumped ship.

Today the town gets by with salt exports but that isnt enough. To top that off folks are trapped in the town due to the abominations that are suddenly appearing in the woods.

Oh and some idiot once pissed in the central well so now the water smells faintly of urine.

Points of interest

The Local farm (Owned by Ol' Mr.Hobbs) is having strange issues as of late. The plants and Crops are dying and strange crystal growths are appearing all over the land. Recently these crystaline growths have been appearing in the crops too, giving them crystal centers and turning them unatural colours. Just yesterday one of Ol' Hobbs dead Cows started walking around with similar crystal growths on 'em.
