Iron Door
The Iron Door is a death cult that worships Ellik, the god of death and burials. In their doctrine, Ellik is the warden over the barrier between the living and the dead, and thus the rightful guide to their souls upon their deaths. They are the only known group with the intention of willingly passing into Ellik's realm when they die, as most lore describes such a place is dark and suffocating. Outside of the cult, offerings and prayers to Ellik are usually intended to placate the god to allow the recently deceased to pass on to brighter destinations.
The cult is surprisingly reluctant to admit new members to its mysteries. They recruit like they are only concerned with maintaining their numbers rather than growing.
Iron Door Cultists seem to arrive whenever someone is researching the afterlife or souls beyond mastering the commonly known necromancy spells. When the Iron Door is arrives, experiments fail, research materials disappear, and scholars go missing.
