Bag of Bountiful Bread

A cursed sack of infinite food. Those who start eating find it almost impossible to stop.

Found as part of a cruel picnic laid out by Auntie Issandra - a coven of coven hag - in the Feywild, this bag always smells of freshly baked bread. A creature that begins eating the bread rolls it endlessly produces will find it very difficult to stop, potentially eating until they burst or choke to death.

It is unknown whether this was a one-off item produced by the coven of covens, but the example found by the Hagsbane Order was angrily discarded and thrown into a nearby treeline.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The bag contains six freshly-baked bread rolls. Rolls are depleted when removed, but replenish when fully consumed. Opening the bag and holding it upside down causes all six rolls to fall out with no additional effect.

Bag of Bountiful Bread

Wondrous Item

Uncommon Fantasy

This rough, hempen bag appears to have half a dozen bread rolls inside. As the rolls are consumed, they replenish inside the bag.

A creature that eats one of the bread rolls from inside the bag must make a DC 14 Wisdom saving throw, becoming compelled to eat an additional roll on a failure. This repeats until a success is achieved. A creature may only eat a certain number of bread rolls before suffering negative effects: five rolls plus the creatures Constitution modifier. This limit is halved for creatures smaller than medium and doubled for creatures larger than medium.

Creatures who have eaten more than this begin to choke, making a DC 12 Constitution saving throw for each additional roll they consume, dropping to 0 hit points on a failure.
