The tower was built by
Geneviève Basqar during her first reign of Basq. Situated on an islet around a mile out from
Ormons. The structure is built into the actual islet, with several rooms either fully or semi-underground. During the
Crisis of the Fey age, the locals believed it to be haunted.
Purpose
The tower was built said to hold the current princess of Basq till she was needed, though, in reality, this was a ruse to explain why the princesses were never seen till their coronation. It was also used as a prison for Geneviève enemies.
Layout
A small dock leads to a flight of stairs that take you up to the tower, this has a front entrance and a second entrance into the back of the tower. A small bunkhouse is hidden to one side that houses a small group of hobgoblins that are guards and caretakers of the island.
The main room of the tower is a simple dining and guard room with the Basq coat of arms hanging over the fireplace. A door leads to the outer rooms while a spiral staircase leads up to a lavish bedroom with all the furnishing or a royal room. A secret portal leads from the bedroom to a library that housed Geneviève's research into immortality.
The lower levels include the second entrance into the larder, a kitchen that links the tower to the other rooms, and a storage area that leads to a small dungeon.
Important events
While the tower has mainly been quiet it has been the site of a few important events including Geneviève Basqar's own imprisonment after the
Rivell conquest and the imprisonment of
Grunkle's Angels in 122 Fey.
