Giantkin

The larger of the two groups descended from earth primordial, the Giantkin are said to be the true inheritors of the primordial, even regularly being mistaken for touched. They originally survived in the mountains along with the dwarfs before they split off. They eventually gained the primordial essence, allowing them to survive in the extreme conditions around mountains. It should be noted that while elementals are often put in this group, this is incorrect as elementals are raw manifestations of the power, while Giantkin are more influenced by.  

Primordial essence

While Giantkin don't normally excel in magic, they seem to be heavily influenced to it, especially as a teenage often taking on traits connected to the energies in the area. Due to the sense of community among most Giantkin this has given the illusion of many more subraces then their actually are, where in reality it's just because most teenagers are just in the same environment their parents were.  

Sub races

Split into three groups, each group has a questionable number of subraces in as it is hard to tell what is a sub race and what is the Primordial essence at work.  

True Giants

While the rarest to encounter, they are actually the most numerus of the Giantkin. These giants seem to grow bigger the more magical energy and room they have, creating beings from 15 foot to over 25 foot tall, this energy also seems to extend their lifespan, a feature unique to true giants.   Their physical appearance is also heavy influence by the primordial energies of an area, to the point a true giant in the fire conflux that attacked Boulon in the the Crisis of the Fey age looked closer to a magma monster then a giant.  

Lesser giants

A group of Giantkin that includes trolls, cyclopes, and other 'smaller' giants. While it is unclear how this group came about, they seem to share little with true giants other then their size, though signs of primordial energy does still linger, especially in trolls, they have however lost their primordial essence. While normally smaller these giants can grow to the size of smaller true giants. This group also tend to be loners then form the communities of true giants.   While thought to have the most subraces, it is sometimes hard to tell when one subrace ends and another begins. Though some things do mark specific sun races, like the Troll ability to regenerate.  

Giant Blooded

The most like to be encountered by the other race, and most likely to be mistaken for a touched. While it is unclear where this species came from originally, it is known to be the mixing of a true giant and a humanoid. This species of humanoids have the primordial essence, not only allowing them to grow larger then average, but take on the features of magic they are exposed to as a teen.
