Oarlen Highlands

Culture

The culture of the Oarlen Highland's citizens are purely work-focused. There aren't many towns in the Oarlen Highlands, except for the capital, but all of them contain citizens with extremely disciplined work ethics. However, outsiders are generally unaware that many of the workers tend to keep up their extreme discipline more out of their own safety, rather than for their own devotion to work.

History

The country known as the Oarlen Highlands was founded by the first CEO of the Orion Corporation, Dwain Marko Robinson. After forming the Orion Corporation in the year 500, he needed to find a place to construct a production factory. His home country of Malistone was not a good idea, as Sen & Krieg Supplies already overtook production in the country.   After traveling up north for several months, Robinson ordered his accompanying workers to begin construction. The ones who weren't focused on constructing the factory were sent out as representatives to the nearby local villages, trying to convince them to start working for the Orion Corporation. These attempts of persuasion managed to work thanks to a mix of charismatic speakers and some "other" tactics employed.   Years went by and the citizens of the country had managed to build up Oarlen from what used to be just several scattered sovereign villages into a massive corporate-run country and economy. Their general lifestyles have changed in both good and bad ways.

Demography and Population

The population is mostly concentrated in the Capital City of Artemis City. Out of the 21,000 people in the country, only about 1,530 live outside of Artemis City.

Military

Oarlen does very much have an army. This army, like everyone else, works for the Orion Corporation. All of their gear is supplied by the corporation and all military actions are instructed by the corporation. The military hierarchy is still traditionally similar to the other countries, but the highest ranks still report back to the Orion Corporation's Chief Executive and council members. The hierarchy from highest to lowest is:
  • Major General
  • First Captain
  • Second Captain
  • Lieutenant
  • Colonel
  • Officer
  • Sergeant
  • Private

Agriculture & Industry

Industry is everywhere in Oarlen, all thanks to its corporate government. Weapon-production is the primary source of income and economic fuel. The small towns and villages outside of Artemis City tend to consist of mining work and farm work.
