Duke Evonius Krell

Evonius Krell, often hailed as the Unifier, was a pivotal figure in the tumultuous early years of Draconian history. Born into the noble Krell family in the year 175 BDT, Evonius rose to prominence through acts of valor and leadership, ultimately earning the esteemed title of Draconian Archduke. His reign marked a transformative period known as the Birth of Draconian Identity, during which he played a central role in uniting the disparate city-states under a common banner. Early Life   Little is known of Evonius's early years, but his upbringing likely instilled in him a sense of duty and honor befitting his noble lineage. As tensions simmered among the city-states of Draconis, Evonius emerged as a beacon of hope, poised to confront the challenges that lay ahead.  

The Rebellion of 20 ADT

  The turning point in Evonius's life came during the infamous Rebellion of 20 ADT, a dark chapter in Draconian history marked by treachery and bloodshed. As the captain of the Fallachian Holy Dragoons launched a brazen assault on the Four City Conference in Fallach, Evonius distinguished himself through acts of bravery and selflessness. Despite sustaining grievous injuries, including the loss of his arm and left eye, Evonius rallied his guards to repel the attack, thus averting disaster and cementing his reputation as a hero.  

The Fallachian Resolution

  In the aftermath of the rebellion, Evonius played a key role in drafting the Fallachian Resolution, a landmark document that laid the groundwork for the formation of a unified Draconian state. Proposing the creation of a capital citadel atop the revered Mt. Draconis and the establishment of the title of Draconian Archduke, the resolution sought to forge a common identity among the disparate city-states. Under Evonius's leadership, the Four Cities agreed to participate in the election of the Archduke, thus heralding a new era of cooperation and unity.  

The Birth of Draconian Identity

  As Draconian Archduke, Evonius embarked on a tireless campaign to foster a sense of unity and solidarity among the people of Draconis. Embracing the cultural diversity of the Four Cities, he sought to incorporate elements from each region into the emerging Draconian identity. His Royal Crown of Draconis, crafted from Krellian steel, adorned with jewels from Baldovinettia, lined with Barekbaalian fabrics, and bearing Fallach's sacred sword, served as a tangible symbol of this inclusive approach.  

Legacy

  Evonius's legacy as the Unifier endures to this day, revered as a paragon of leadership and statesmanship. Though his life was tragically cut short just three years after the inception of the Drake Citadel, his vision of a unified Draconis lived on, shaping the course of history for generations to come. The title of Archduke remained within the Krell family until the reign of Alek the Impotent, a testament to the enduring influence of Evonius's noble lineage.
