Resting and Healing
Definitions
Light Activity
Reading, talking, eating, tending wounds, or standing watch.Strenuous Activity
Walking, fighting, using powers or other similarly intense activities related to adventuring.Resting
Short Rest
Requirements
- At least 30 continuous minutes of light activity.
- It has been at least 2 hours since your last rest.
Benefits
- Some features, abilities, and items reset or regain charges at the end of a short rest.
- Natural Healing: Regain Hit Points equal to your CON modifier (minimum of 1 Hit Point).
ORMedical Healing: Expend 1 or 2 medkit charges. Roll 1 Hit Die per charge adding your CON modifier to each roll. Regain Hit Points equal to the total.
Long Rest
Requirements
- At least 8 continuous hours of sleep with a maximum of 2 hours of light activity.[\li]
- Maximum 1 long rest per day.
- If interrupted by strenuous activity lasting longer than 1 hour, the rest resets and must be started again to gain any benefits.
Benefits
- Some features, abilities, and items reset or regain charges at the end of a long rest.
- Natural Healing: Regain Hit Points equal to twice your CON modifier (minimum of 1 HP).
ORMedical Healing: Expend any number of medkit charges. Roll 1 Hit Die per charge adding your CON modifier to each roll. Regain Hit Points equal to the total.
Recovery Rest
Requirements
- One week in a safe location performing only downtime activities.
ORThree days receiving standard medical care + downtime activities.
OROne day and one night in a higher grade medical facility (with no downtime activities).
Benefits
- Regain all lost Hit Points.
- If receiving medical care, remove conditions caused by any known diseases and poisons.
