Host of Embers

Culture

Force is treated as a tool to be used when appropriate, and not abused. Justice is often secondary to discipline, as the latter is proven to be more productive. Excessive cruelty is thought of as inefficient and a potential toxin to society.   The Host pride themselves on self discipline and team work. Often pulling together their knowledge and experiences to continuously advance their tactic against the wide varieties of potential foes. They are warriors willing to die a warrior's death if necessary. Some even preferring the idea over a long stale life.    They take all forms of followers. However, Dwarfs and Humans make up the majority of their ranks.

Public Agenda

They use their resources to stop evil from destroying civilizations. Including if it lives within their walls.   Wars between societies are of no concern to them, unless the motives are beyond defense or conquest. Such as genocide.   However, if wars go on too long, they may intervene to stop the stalemate of destruction. Done so by choosing the most beneficial course for the whole.

Assets

Some soldiers come from fallen armies, or choose to enlist with the Host as their life's goal. Many warriors of other lands may lose their loyalty to their former leaders. The Coal Keepers offer them a more righteous reason to use their skills while simultaneously protecting them from the repercussions of abandoning their posts. This leads to hordes of troops varying in skill and experience.   The constant resources from the Synod of Cogs keep their armories stocked. As do contributions from compliant countries who wish to keep the potential protectors ready for any possible reason they may come to their aid.
