Noxia's Domain

A lethal realm deep in Hades, shrouded in a perpetual haze of toxic vapors and choked with the stench of decay. Pools of acid bubble across its landscape, and every breath carries the risk of Death. It is a place where even the most seasoned adventurers tread lightly—if they dare enter at all.

Description

The domain of Noxia, the Dragon Goddess of Poison, is a deadly expanse where life struggles to exist. Acid pools and rivers of corrosive sludge cut through jagged black stone, while multicolored mists drift above the ground, killing or mutating anything foolish enough to inhale them. Those who survive the toxic air find themselves surrounded by silent witnesses—hundreds of lifelike statues, once living beings, now preserved forever in a venomous petrification.   At the heart of this forsaken place lies Noxia’s hoard and her venom-forged throne, protected by layers of poisons so potent they can strip the flesh from a creature’s bones in seconds. Few have seen her in person; fewer still have lived to speak of it.

Statue Field

The approach to Noxia’s inner sanctum is lined with hundreds of statues, each one a victim of her petrifying venom. Many still bear expressions of terror, despair, or defiance. The statues serve both as a warning and a grim testament to her power. Some are crumbling from centuries of exposure, while others look as though they were created yesterday.

Hoard Cavern

A vast cavern of shimmering green light and foul air houses Noxia’s immense hoard. Piles of gold, jeweled relics, and priceless artifacts are scattered amid crates and vials of deadly poisons. Her most prized trophies are not riches but rare toxins—each stored in enchanted containers, some so volatile they could wipe out a kingdom if released.   Noxia’s treasure hoard is in her lair, accumulated by her cultists and servants over millennia. The hoard contains the following items:

Cage of the Broken God

Hidden deep in the domain and surrounded by the densest poisonous fog is a wrought-iron cage. Within lies a formless, withering creature—the former god of poison. Once Noxia’s tormentor, it now suffers endlessly under her cruel experiments, its body rotting from within while never allowed to die.

Venom Throne

Noxia’s throne is carved from the ribcage of an ancient black dragon, fused with crystallized venom that glows faintly in the gloom. From here she rules her poisonous realm, her presence alone filling the air with a choking haze. The throne is surrounded by acid channels and venom spouts, creating an impenetrable moat of toxins.

Toxic Air. The entire domain is filled with lethal gas. A creature that starts its turn here must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or take 21 (6d6) poison damage and be poisoned for 1 minute. On a success, the creature is immune to this effect for 1 hour. Creatures that don’t need to breathe are immune.   Acid Pools. Any creature that enters or starts its turn in an acid pool takes 28 (8d6) acid damage. Moving through an acid pool counts as difficult terrain.   Petrifying Venom. Certain clouds and traps release Noxia’s unique venom. A creature exposed to it must succeed on a DC 19 Constitution saving throw or begin turning to stone.
