Noxia

Goddess of poison

Noxia, a unique black Dragon, was created and tormented by the god of poison, subjected to relentless experiments involving potent toxins. Despite immense suffering that left her body scarred and corroded, she gained resilience and mastery over poison. Upon reaching adulthood, Noxia strategically plotted and succeeded in subduing the god of poison, subjecting him to perpetual torment and claiming his godly power, earning her the title "Mistress of Venom."   In 1136 AD, adventurers killed Sseth, the false god of the Yuan-ti, causing upheaval in their theocracy and a rebellion among the Tortle slaves. Sistine, a leader among the Yuan-ti, sought refuge and divine aid, ultimately turning to Noxia for assistance. In return, Noxia transformed Sistine into a Medusa, a change seen as a blessing. With her newfound power, Sistine regained control and solidified her rule, empowered by the ability to petrify her foes.   Noxia's commandments:
  • Through suffering, strength is born. Endure the trials that shape you, for they will lead to your ultimate power.
  • Let none who betray you escape unscathed. Take joy in the painful unraveling of your enemies, for their torment is the price of their treachery.
  • Poison is not simply a tool for Death; it is a force of transformation. Use it wisely to weaken your enemies, and to strengthen your own will.

History

Genesis

Noxia is a very special black dragon. Unlike any other dragon, she was taken by the god of poison and was born to be a subject of his experimentation. The dragon's naturally strong constitution and the black dragon's resistance to acid would let the god of poison experiment with various kinds of toxins. Yet, Noxia wasn't immune to poison, and was tortured by the god of poison for years, even centuries. The poison, not strong enough to kill her, did let her understand the true meaning of suffering. The various twisting her body, forcing her to shed scale, her skin, thin and corroded oozing a green poison, deadly fumes surrounding Noxia.   But, as she grew and survived those experimentations, her might also grow. Raised among the gods, and experimented on, she was a dragon unlike any other, and when she reached the adult stage, she faced the god of poison. Knowing her physical strength or the poison she was now able to control would be useless, she plotted in secrets. After years of planning, the trap was ready, and soon, the god of poison was weakened, and trapped. Noxia revealed herself as the master of this plan, enjoying the slow and painful torture she was subjecting her former master to. Keeping him alive, she was soon known as the Mistress of Venum, gaining godly power, and thriving when watching the former god of poison losing all of his power.   Legend says, the almost dead god, powerless, is still locked within Noxia lair, which became the new god of poison, the scream of horror echoing through the plane as Noxia keeps torturing him, peeling his skin off, burning his flesh, letting his lungs rot.

Fall of the false god

1136 AD   A group of adventurer managed to kill the false god of the Yuan-ti, the dragon Sseth. Only Rakon, one of the adventurers, survived the encounter, now wielding Sseth's divine power. With Sseth dead, Sistine's control over the Chezucore theocracy of Yuan-ti weakened, leading to rebellion among the tortles slaves and a subsequent famine.   Retreating to the Shadowfell, Sistine sought refuge with the vampires of the Crimson Court, but they refused to intervene in the mortal conflict. Turning to the divine once more, Sistine presented the Yuan-ti with a new god to worship: Noxia. With the rebellion over and control restored, Sistine regained her authority over the theocracy.   However, in exchange for her help in restoring Sistine's power within the Chezucore Theocracy, Noxia demanded a price. Sistine was to be transformed into a medusa. While many would consider such a transformation a curse, Sistine and the yuan-ti viewed it as a blessing, and she willingly agreed.   Now endowed with the power to petrify her enemies with her gaze, Sistine rules over the yuan-ti as a medusa. This transformation has solidified her authority and augmented her mystical prowess.
