Moloch

Once a loyal general to Asmodeus, Moloch rose to power by driving angels from the Hells and earning a chancellor’s seat at his master’s side. For ages he thrived under Asmodeus’s rule, playing rival chancellors against one another—just as Asmodeus intended.   But Moloch’s downfall came when he heeded the counsel of the night Hag Malagard. Her whispers drove him to plot rebellion, a scheme that came close to success but was exposed. Stripped of his station and sentenced to Death, Moloch barely escaped through a planar portal.   It was Fury, Archdevil of Greed, who saved him. She made Moloch her chancellor, restoring the power he had lost. Eager to prove himself, he raised an army of devils and monsters to invade the neighboring layer of Acedia. Yet outside Fury’s realm his strength faltered; Asmodeus cursed him so that beyond Avaritia he is reduced to the form of an imp. His army crumbled, and Moloch fled in disgrace.   Now he lingers between worlds. In Avaritia he plots endlessly, while beyond it he wanders the planes in search of the Magic or secrets that might one day restore his true power.
