Synod of Seventy-Seven
Structure
The Synod of Seventy-Seven is the supreme ruling body of the Guild of Mages and of the Magocracy of Macot. It is comprised of the Archmage and Hexarchs, the 36 Academic Chairs of Macot, and five additional faculty chairs from each of the Hexarchical Seats. The remaining four seats are filled by the Archbishop Arcane, the Chief of the Alchemical Union, the Chief of the Guild of Artificers, and the Chief Recruitment Magister. The members are referred to as Magisters, or as Magelords. With the Fall of Lorantis late last year, Wolfgang von Eberesche has proposed merging the seats of the Alchemical Union and the Guild of Artificers in order to seat the First Sister of the Southern Rite.
Public Agenda
The full synod votes to approve or disapprove the agendas proposed by the Archmage and the Hexarchs. They are also responsible for major decisions in the Guild, such as the promotion of new Magisters or Hexarchs, the locations of the Hexarchical Seats, and the major operations of the Mageocracy.
