Rosa Di Rovo
On a separate floating ‘island’ just off the shore – helping to form the natural shipping lane into the port – rests Rosa di Rovo, the unofficial arts district of Porto Radica. Accessible to both the upper and lower classes, it serves as a rare meeting ground where all strata of society come together in celebration of the arts.
Designed to resemble a blooming rose upon the water, both for beauty and to mitigate flooding, its centrepiece is The Orpheum, a grand venue that hosts rotating galleries, nightly theatre, ballet, and opera. The Orpheum is also rumoured to safeguard private galleries belonging to the Syndicate’s highest echelon.
Over time, both the district and its crown jewel have come to be known interchangeably as Rosa di Rovo. To say one is to invoke the other: a place where passion, performance, and power entwine.
