R.G.X

A large Freelancer Starship aligned to the Purity of the Stars terrorist organisation.

R.G.X is about 10 km in length, making it slightly larger than a Hypertriton - Class Battleship and its lack of crew makes it perform much faster than typical Hyperion battleships. Due to its alignment, R.G.X is seen as a traitor by other freelancers and the wider Hyperion Federation in general. They are one of the more influential freelancers of the PotS and as such are relatively widely known for a freelancer.

Unlike several other well known freelancers, R.G.X was not initially built as a sentient robot. Instead, they were built from the start as a freelancer, the PotS educating it inside its replicator so that it would remain PotS aligned. Technically, R.G.X is thus not a traitor to the hyperionites as they have never been aligned with them in the first place. R.G.X was built in a large starship replicator in a galaxy quite close to but not within HF territory. The hyperionites have a foothold in these galaxies but they have not fully occupied them yet, so the PotS has managed to establish a number of secret bases. 

Its large size means it is fairly slow so while it has not been used in any attacks depending on speed, R.G.X is used as a mobile fortress, which can take many hits quite easily and deliver its own firepower with arrays of large weapons. It also has a large radar signature so it knows that stealth is not an option.

Taking inspiration from HM forces, R.G.X is armed mainly with multipurpose weapons because it often has to enter battles itself. It can rapidly fabricate any type of ammunition, such as high explosive and armour piercing cannon rounds, and the main weapons can also incorporate powerful electricity into their firepower and turn itself into a coilgun, railgun or even a plasma cannon. R.G.X's Replicators are able to fabricate any of these types of rounds. It even sometimes uses casaba lances based on antimatter. 

R.G.X has chosen to adopt a fairly thick body plan to allow them to mount these primary weapons on all sides of its hull and allow it to fire these huge rounds at targets in all directions. It is also armoured in over 20 meters of very strong TGX composite, which would require some very large weapons to penetrate. Its shield is similarly strong and can regenerate faster than the hull but is weaker to some weapons such as EMPs. It has some fairly large photonic thrusters on its rear, but R.G.X has sacrificed some mobility for well-armoured thrusters that can be hard to destroy even when an enemy shoots at it directly. It also incorporates electronic warfare and CIWS turret protection, destroying and disabling enemy missiles at long range before they can reach its hull, even being able to protect nearby allied ships from similar missile strikes. It was designed to counter HF missiles specifically, so other factions might be able to overwhelm it with sheer numbers of missiles.

Despite its incredibly advanced capability and skill in combat, R.G.X was almost destroyed by a significant HF force during a particular battle close to the rim of the Odyros galaxy. The hyperionites managed to land several large missile hits on R.G.X using Subspatial Starships with significant missile compliments. This has blown several large holes in R.G.X and forced it to retreat. While in retreat, some hyperionite forces pursued it, firing at the many large holes at its internals. With almost all of its matter plasma tanks destroyed, R.G.X managed to retreat fully with the aid of many of its allies and begin repairs. This costed the PotS a lot of casualties. Repairs was no easy task as the freelancer lost its matter plasma, so a large temporary tank had to be supplied.

As a result of this, R.G.X could not be deployed until years later, much quicker than an organic would have healed. But they have learned from this battle. R.G.X is now noticeably more careful in battle and makes sure to bring subspatial starship detection equipment to every battle, to the point where it incorporated that technology into itself as well. It has sacrificed some of its armour to incorporate subspatial torpedoes into itself to give itself subspatial starship interception capability.

When not in combat, they are often seen playing games with friends. R.G.X has made friends with several other freelancers as well as many organics and has played a large variety of games with them all in its several thousand year life.
