Poraqu III

A large ocean planet which forms the home planet of the Quigg species, part of the Poraqu System.

Poraqu III takes up a large size, so it has a strong gravitational field. As such, any species that evolved here would have to be able to withstand the immense crush depth. However, there are significant metal ore deposits which allow them to build larger projects more cheaply. The large size of Poraqu III and aquatic nature of the quigg means that it was difficult for them to achieve space travel. However, this has also allowed them to fill their starships with water and achieve an incredible maneuverability advantage in combat. Overpressure waves are easily directed away from crew compartments. Because of the much smaller size and larger number of male quigg, they were almost always used for space missions unless a female explicitly wants to go to space themselves, which is a much more significant effort. Despite this, their aquatic species has managed to colonise most planets of their home system, though they are still experimenting with more advanced FTL drives. They have made contact with a number of other factions in space, and desire closer relations with each.
