Imperium Systems

A corporation located within Alti Dominion borders specialising in advanced weapons systems.

Imperium Systems is known to sell weapons of almost any kind. From the smallest of infantry weapons such as pocket knives to the largest of starship main weapons, they can take up a significant amount of the market for these weapons, which makes them a leading weapon manufacturer. Even other Alti based corporations such as the KX Foundation often purchase weapons from them for the quality guarantees and to ease their own production.

Imperium Systems owns a significant megastructure of its own creation which orbits a planet close to the Kevra System. A massive orbital ring encircling a planet, covered in factories, importing vast amounts of metal to construct all kinds of weapons. The planet that the orbital ring was built around has a lot of mines to supply the Imperium factories with metal. It is transported up via a number of large space elevators as well. Other materials can be shipped to the factory with starships, though Imperium Systems is unlikely to use a massive amount of these materials, as the planet based operation understands the needs of the ring and much of its industry is made to sustain the ring. Contrary to popular belief, the Imperium System HQ is actually in a large space station in a high orbit over the giant planetary ring. Most people think it is on the ring. In such a high orbit, the planet below appears quite small so its distance from this planet is evident.

Some of their most notable products include:
- the Harbinger CIWS, a TDD - boosted railgun CIWS turret.

- the Outlaw Sonic Cannon, a highly reliable infantry held weapon which is available all over the Dominion, including the civilian market.

As well as most of the armaments for many Alti starships. Imperium Systems has even designed ewar units with a decent level of success, although lethal weapons remains more profitable to them.

To encourage quality, most of its employees are treated better than those of most Alti companies. Most of their technologies are of a lower standard than those of Imperium, because the Alti leadership realise that broken weapon systems will make their navies particularly ineffective. As such, the Dominion forced Imperium to continue its track of quality weapons. Many people within the Alti dominion aspire to become Imperium Systems employees, though the employee standards are very high which makes it one of the most difficult companies to obtain a job in.

Imperium Systems began as a very small group of friends who wanted to build an effective rifle using just tools they could find in their shed just for fun, though using a TDD that they purchased. This group of passionate weapon manufacturers eventually found that it outperformed many high precision and advanced weapons of the Alti. The military approached them to purchase it and the group was given a contract to build many more. With this money, they founded Imperium Systems as well as built a small factory in a fairly remote and isolated location. The company has long outlived its founders, who are now long dead though, and continues to build weapons similar to what the founders built in their garage. The company was founded after the beginning of the Alti space age after they have already colonised a few worlds and before they made first contact with any species other than the Drailad. This makes it one of the older companies of its type. 

Imperium is also involved in some Alti dominion black projects such as large superweapons and new types of powerful, advanced ammunition.
