Endarian Suns

A minor faction with its homeworld in the TL-537 galaxy, which is very far from central Fortrais, extremely infraplanar from the Cypher Dominion. Their homeworld is called Narago, and their home system, the Prlar system.

The Endarian species have undergone a highly unique evolutionary process where they were able to synthesise genes from prey species that they eat. This allows them to take up a huge number of forms by making use of their extremely complex genome by activating or deactivating genes on demand. This gives the endarians an immense genetic diversity, and massively improve their usefulness in specific jobs by specailising themselves to their job. Though they are currently a technology focused faction, they might be able to instead persue bioengineering if their genome increases in complexity even more and endarians become capable of turning themselves into bioships. This would be a huge advancement in their society as it would allow them to take up any form they can imagine with only very few limitations, which is their ultimate dream.  

The endarian species desire to increase their complexity further. They want to eat and incorporate as many alien species as possible, making their own genome extremely long. To achieve this, they hope to obtain Harki genes specifically for their gene splicing glands which would allow them to build their own genes and incorporate them into themselves. The Endarian Suns probably has poor relations with the Hyperion Federation for this reason...

Though they have made contact with the Zikrat Scientific Citizenry, the Endarians cannot eat machines so they have managed to establish fairly good relations with the zikrat. There would simply be no point in waging war with the zikrat when they could wage war against other species to expand their genome. The zikrat are aware of this logic and as such are not afraid of them. Endarians have been known to reproduce in a large variety of ways depending on how they set up their bodies. They can lay eggs, give birth in a similar way as humans or even undergo mitosis. It has become impossible to define differences between 'subspecies' of endarians, even by their own classifications, so they simply call themselves a single species, as does the rest of Fortrais.

Narago is a world that was almost entirely covered in forest. Now that Endarian civilization has become so advanced, there are a number of large cities. Most of the planets water has accumulated into a huge number of small lakes which makes water available almost everywhere. In precipitation, water can flow to any of these lakes so the speed of a river can vary significantly, as can the water height of the lakes. By giving themselves aquatic traits, they can easily explore these lakes and build structures within them which allows them to build large platforms over them along with a city on the platform. They would probably have to redirect water flow towards other lakes though. Many of these cities are likely to be dismantled when the Endarians become very good at bioengineering themselves. They could grow buildings rather than build them and they would be far more eco friendly, allowing them to sustain an ecosystem even on planets with very large endarian populations. They would no longer require a large number of workers to construct and sustain a building, instead, that could be done by the building's own biological processes. Even in this stage, the buildings would be able to reproduce and create more buildings. They would probably reproduce asexually and the infant buildings probably transported to their desired locations by wider society, manually.

At this stage, the endarians are a significant interest to the HF and especially the HSA. There are only extremely few species of a similar nature ever recorded and the harkas would desire to understand their biology better. They want to study the endarians but they have refused every offer so far, so the specifics of endarian biology remain mostly unknown to the HF. They continue to try though, including through sheer espionage. This is a rather risky operation though, as they would want to eat any person sent to their space to recover their genome.
