Cluster 1004
A large cluster of Sentient Metal, formed into a starship.
Cluster 1004 is not the name given to them by their own species, or themselves. Because communication between the sentient metal and other species is quite weak, Cluster 1004 is the name given to the particular cluster by the wider Hyperion Federation itself, specifically the Hyperion Science Association (HSA).
Cluster 1004 appears to have a family of several other sentient metal ships, named 1001, 1002, 1003, 1005, 1006 and 1007 in order of age. Together, they have annihilated a large number of Cypher Dominion and HEX Mainframe fleets which have tried oppressing them. Cluster 1004 is thus well aware of wider intergalactic threats, and has become a true leader for other sentient metal clusters. 1004 is eternally filled with a rage against those who threaten their species, which they have presumed to be any species not from the Crystal galaxy.
1004 often teaches other clusters of its ways. This is to help others to improve their knowledge and capability, so that they can defend the galaxy better than just 1004 can do alone.
Eventually, as time went on, 1004 learns that the HF is not so oppressive, and they desire to form alliances with the Sentient Metal. After being given ways to leave the Crystal galaxy, the HF has begun to earn their trust. As time goes on further, they become closer to the HF, who have managed to ally with them against the HM and CD threats. For the Sentient Metal, this would be their chance to go on the offensive, removing the threats entirely. Cluster 1004 joins the HF in their defence of the Crystal and hyperionite galaxies.
Even the legendary sentient metal commander has been injured in battle more than one time. These battle scars are typically from highly powerful enemy weaponry such as missiles, and the pain from being hit with such a weapon can discourage it from fighting well. These will leave large marks on its body which heal over time. The sentient metal can heal effectively enough that none of these marks become permanent.
