Imbaran

Old human tribes within the Whispering Wood used the essence to imbue their stories in the trees and their histories. They also held it to be sacred and entrusted warriors and leaders with that power to use to protect the tribes from predators. Some were consumed by the temptation to use it and ended up being mutated and corrupted by it. Due to a misuse of the essence and its properties, they became monsters, doomed to descend into madness, pain, and suffering. They cannot die, or at least no one knows how to do it, and they have insane resistance to magic, mimicry, and tracking skills. Uttering their true name calls them to you. Their true name is the “Imbaran.” Many call them the “Lost Ones,” “Soulless,” or “Silvrot.”   These are ancient Lystat Itare who succumbed to the madness now commonly know as Soulless . However, it created an apex cryptid in the forests of Verta Silva who prey on those that enter its woods.
