Methold Warwagon
Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Methold Warwagon is an armored carriage used by the dwarves of Brotherhood of Dora-Nil for a variety of purposes, mainly utilized as an armored personnel carrier. This vehicles are a testament to the Dwarves' expertise and supremacy in metal crafting and their ability to improve on existing desgins.
History and Development
During the Kadian Invasion of Rakion, the dwarves of the Brotherhood of Dora-Nil had managed to capture several Aderian Agmines. Thses APCs, pulled by skows, presented an intriguing opportunity for the resourceful dwarves of the Brotherhood. Recognizing the potential of this unique form of transportation, they set out to further improve and refine its design to better suit their needs. With their renowned craftsmanship and engineering prowess, the dwarves carefully studied the intricacies of the agmine and its systems. Viewing it as an unrefined idea, they sought to perfect it while also incorporating their own technological and magical innovations, making several modifications to the APC.Changes and Improvements
The most conspicious change was substituding the skows with kazrams, readjusting the yokes and pulling system to accomodate the animals' different shape and size, a change which maximizes the pulling power and overall stability. Additional changes include the addition of pipes and slits through which they can eject reactive liquid substances or shoot projectiles; the two most common liquids include alchemists' fire or inert tanglefoot. The hull is filled with crevices and dents that not only improve aerodynamics but also render projectile attacks made against the warwagon less effective.Weapons & Armament
Runecraft
In addition to the refined metal platings, many of the Methold Warwagon are made with runes carved into them. The most common and prominent runes include:- Air Breath Rune - Understanding that oxygen could be a scarce resource in the underground and a volatile thing in blazing battlefields, the dwarves carved runes that create air via Rune Magic.
- Rune of Speed - Seeking to offset the slower speed provided by rams rather than skows, and understanding that speed is paramount in gaining tactical advantages, these runes are used when a tactical retreat is necessary, to quickly get to advantegous terrain, to maneuever out of an ambush, or in order to flank an enemy force.
- Water Spout Rune - With the agmines being notorious for becoming death-traps while burning, these runes allow the dwarves within the warwagon to splash water all around it, quickly putting out fires. This also allows the warwagons to act as makeshift fire extinguishers during battles.
