Land of Recovery

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The Land of Recovery is a mountain that chose to kneel. Called Martyr’s Crown, it rises from Shurrock’s storm-belt in broad, white-pillared terraces; its summit brushes the Midrun so that gentle bridges can drop supplies from Dothion’s workshops. Here pain is quieted but not erased, weariness loosens its grip, and wounded bodies and spirits learn to stand again. Field cloisters, open-air wards, and cloaked arcades turn snowfall into silence and thunder into lullabies. Agonis walks its rounds as a scarred, kindly figure, sharing pain, shouldering burdens, while worshippers tend hearths beside triage stones and write the names of the saved on linen streamers that flutter like dawn.   Though rooted in Shurrock, the Crown leans toward Dothion at need: during great calamities, whole terraces briefly overlay that gentler layer, letting caravans and craft-guilds deliver food, medicines, and tools without tariff or delay. Pilgrims say the realm is the most restful place in the planes, yet it is not a place to forget. It is a place to endure, to be made strong enough to return.

Customs and Law

The Quiet Hour
Every shift begins and ends with one minute of silence and one minute of song. Words land truer after.
Triage Before Pride
Rank, wealth, and creed yield to need. Interference earns removal to the Red Porch (a waiting cloister) until amends are made.
Gentle Hands:
No drawn steel within the Pillared Hospice; even lawful arrests pause at the boundary. Violators find their blades go heavy and their voices hoarse.
Shared Burden
Caregivers may take a measured share of a patient’s pain or fatigue; the patient must consent.
Debt Forward
No coin is owed for care; a promise to aid the next in need is tithe enough. Oath-keepers feel lighter on the roads of the planes.

Geography

Notable Locations

Martyr’s Crown
The mountain properת ringed gardens, convalescent cloisters, and stepped ramps broad enough for litters. Warm springs thread the stone; snow falls softly and melts into rills that sing.
Pillared Hospice
An open-air temple of white columns and red sashes; in its heart, the Stoa of Endurance where pain is shared and lessened, not glorified.
Solace Garden
Orchard of willow and heliodor, beds beneath awnings, and quiet pools; physicians practice, teach, and rest here.
Field Abbeys
Triage courtyards, kitchens, and clean bunkhouses arranged for rapid intake; banners mark specialties, bone, breath, fever, mind.
The Linen Way
Galleries hung with the names of the mended; every streamer bears a promise to pass mercy forward.
The Quiet Falls
A veil of water that muffles thunder; beneath it, counseling alcoves and confession steps.

Travel and Access

Mercy Spans
In order to reach Dothion, there are rope-and-timber bridges from summit to the Midrun, hung with white sashes; caravans from guild towns descend with salves, grain, and blankets.
Relief Arches
In order to reach Shurrock, there are way-gates keyed to triage bells open along storm passes and mine roads when disaster strikes.
Sun-Path
On certain feast dawns, a heliodor path links the summit to Sanctuary of Leniency and Home of Blue Light for shared rites and patient transfer.
Writ of Quiet Passage
Those bearing the Crown’s linen sigil pass unmolested through most Bytopian tolls when hauling the sick or supplies.
