Faerie Dragon

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
Faerie Dragons are a species of small dragons native to the Feywild. Faerie dragons are closely related to Pseudodragons, and are often considered to parallel them; they are especially mischievous, even when compared to other dragons or fey.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Even if miscounting their size, faerie dragons are distinct in their appearance when compared to other dragons; their most defining features are a long prehensile tail, and platinum-colored butterfly-like wings. Faerie dragons have an iridescent coat of scales that reflects all colors of the rainbow, but predominantly reflects one particular color, which changes as they age.

Growth Rate & Stages

Hatching from their eggs fully formed, faerie dragons do not grow as they age, in contrast to virtually all other creatures on Theras; that is not to say that their power remains the same, and it does increase over time. Because their predominant scale hue runs the colors of the rainbow over their lifetime, their color is a direct indicator of their age and power. The scales of a young hatchling are almost always red, and those of a fully mature dragon are violet.
