Starbark

The parts of the Celestial Grove that would reach into space. At first very rarely something would knock a few pieces of bark off. But when it was it fell pieces splintered off everywhere. Giving others a chance to use starbark as well.

It's incredibly hard and smooth, and glows like moonlight.

Starbark is always room temperature, no matter where it is. It will never burn to cinders or freeze and crack.

History & Usage

History

Before the trees fell it was only used by the Elves. It was shaped into weapons and armor by only the highest ranking members because it was in such short supply. And it had to be shaped by smiths using meteorite material. It was the only thing hard enough to shape them. The only ones who knew they existed where the Grovans, who would occasionally try to steal them.

Discovery

It was first discovered when small meteors would knick the trees and knock off some bark. Falling into the forest below.

Cultural Significance and Usage

It is extremely important to the Elves, they have groups who do nothing but search for the missing parts. They don't believe anyone else has the rights to use or wear this material without their blessing.

Refinement

It's not refined but reshaped in way to become more pliable.

Manufacturing & Products

Anything you could build with wood you could make with Starbark. But the most common uses are for weapons or armor.

Distribution

Trade & Market

It's very rare and considered a luxury but dangerous to have. Elves do not share this material so those who try to trade with it have to do so in secret.

Law & Regulation

Because of the Elves objection to it. It's illegal to have in the Circle in it's raw form outside of elven hands unless given approval by the Elves. Even if someone possesses a weapon or armor made from this material it must bear a mark somewhere on it only used by elven craftsmen to show approval.
