Unknown Giant
An unnamed and previously undocumented species of humanoids found within the Southern Wildlands prior to the eruption of Mount Firebrand in 2947 PL.
These humanoids were large bipedal figures with two heads, seemingly each with a distinct consciousness and identity.
They possessed at least average humanoid intelligence, capable of intelligent conversation, architectural and mechanic design, advanced civil construction, and some level of foresight or prophecy.
The seers of their society interpreted the Karratesian Invasion as a portent of Mount Firebrand's eruption, and their society set about preparing for the incoming disaster in the construction of several subterranean shelters with specialised protections for the expected hazards.
The eruption occurred sooner than determined, and only one shelter was completed, with very limited space. As only a small number of people were allowed into the shelter, others panicked. The shelter was sealed as chaos and violence ensued, and the means to reopen the shelter was lost outside.
Though a small portion of their population survived the eruption of Mount Firebrand despite their close proximity, they were trapped inside their refuge, unaware of what was transpiring outside, or if it was even safe to emerge if they could.
644 years later a group from The City came across the refuge, and upon opening it discovered a single surviving member of the giants called Parth, and his seemingly deceased second head, Qarth, whom he referred to as his brother. Parth was evidently very confused about the state of the population within the shelter and the timeline, seemingly unaware that the rest of his people were long deceased, and there were many incongruences between his perception, understanding, and even his existence, and reality.
Upon leaving the shelter for the first time in centuries, Parth quickly dissipated peacefully, bringing an end to his species, and leaving the group uncertain of what exactly had occurred within the shelter.
The site of the shelter was marked and named Safe Parth.
