Ash

Marked By Ash is a felidae or "catfolk" hailing from The Burnt Grove, a felidae clan settlement somewhere within the forests of the Southern Wildlands, who currently resides in The City.

Always a bit different from his family, Ash left his clan as a teenager as his curiosity drove him out to explore the world on his own. Unfortunately, he had no means of knowing where he was going, or how to find his way back, and so his home was lost to him.

Though largely unexplored and misunderstood in his youth, Ash tapped into his innate ability to commune with the spirits of the world in order to survive in the wilds, and eventually found he was able to take on other physical forms as he studied them.

After months of wandering, exploring, and learning about all manner of creatures and humanoids present in the wilds, he came across The City. Seeing what was essentially a big box with a tonne of interesting things inside, he made his way within, and spent the next several years exploring all the nooks and crannies and layers of the centuries old city.

In order to survive in and fully explore The City and its people, he took on the guise of a human man he had studied in the wilds, and take on the persona of simply "Ash".

Profession

In order to get by and integrate further into the city, Ash managed to work his way into a position as a working herbalist at the Hidden Grove. Utilising his familiarity with and affinity for nature, he has come to be a good source of the city's more relied upon herbs, even supplying The Order of the Ancient Heart with ingredients for the creation of healing potions.

Though the majority of his work is part of The City mandate, he is able to earn some Rivers for himself through the cultivation and sale of recreational herbs, including many of his own concoction.

Relationships

Ash is the middle child of five, with his older brother and sister, Char and Plume, and young brother and sister, Soot and Kindle.

Though he has avoided growing close to most denizens of The City, he has befriended one local over their mutual sense of curiosity. Ash met Jinx when they were both exploring an abandoned tunnel, and have continued to conduct their urban exploration together. Jinx is a man who can obtain things, and has acquired rare seeds for Ash at times.

During one of his expeditions, Ash was severely injured. In aiding and treating him, Brynn Westfell of The Order of the Ancient Heart discovered his secret identity as a felidae. He kept his secret, and went on to introduce Ash to The Order, whom he now supplies with herbs and ingredients.
