University of The Other
A mish-mash of curious professionals researching magic, the other world, and the people who come through the portal, eventually coalesced into an institution known as The University of The Other in Promenade. They're generally regarded as eccentric by the common Saurian, and a mixture of useful and alarming by those who have a better understanding of what they do. In order to get government funding they also had to set up courses in Saurian language, culture, and history for non-Saurians, though realistically half the class is the professors asking questions of the students instead of the other way around. Their founders were the group who successfully centralized the other-world energy into focusing on a single point, now known as The Portal, instead of dropping people and items seemingly randomly across the islands.
Technically named Falloway University, after its head founder, but no one actually calls it that. Even the signs directing towards it say 'University of The Other' these days, to the great frustration of some of Falloway's grandchildren.
