The Captain's Creed
The rules for the role of village captain.
Purpose
The captain's creed was drawn up with the creation of the role to provide perimeters to the Captain. This was done out of a great desire to avoid a Cesar situation where the village becomes beholden to one person's whims.
Document Structure
Publication Status
In Willowmoor's early days, one had to visit the library/museum to see the only copy of the creed, jotted down on a piece of lined paper in blocky letters by one of its authors, C.J., and filed away with the miniscule village records by Bartholomew.
In the future, it will be published in a book with other similar documents and distributed to the citizens of Willowmoor to peruse at their own convenience.
Legal status
The creed is considered a contract between the current captain and the people of the village. Defying it in any way can result not just in being removed from the role, but being banished to exile for betraying the community.
