Nemanoi Market
There is an open air market place with colorful awnings covering tables and booths and it is full of Nemanoi people. They are dressed in robes of bright and beautiful colors. There are guards standing around at tactical locations with spears but they are mostly for show. They stand in their assigned places with bored looks and watch the shoppers and children as they shop and play. Their job is to watch for shoplifters but this is a crime that almost never happens in their society. It would be too disrespectful to the watcher, and they would never get away with it anyway. Some catastrophe was sure to befall anyone so careless. The sound of laughter and friendly haggling over price is heard over the bustle of people moving from booth to booth. There is bright cheerful music playing and the children are running back and forth playing with a toy and some dance to the music or beg a parent for some trinket.
Purpose / Function
Every Nemanoi family has a business and they take their commerce very seriously. The market is where most Nemanoi spend the bulk of their time shopping from their neighbors and running their own booths. The market is a thriving, bustling place and is used for almost every social interaction. Meetings, Job interviews, Courtships, Parenting, it is all done at the market.
Architecture
The booths are semi permanent structures made of wood or brick on 3 sides and covered with bright fabric awnings. Family crest flags and advertisements flags are hanging on the front of each booth and make the whole area a bright and festive place.
Defenses
There are guards but they are mostly for show and only occasionally help to deescalate situations between merchants.
History
The market has always been central to Nemanoi society. When the Byni came after the Eye was created they established the capitalist system on Nemanoi and that is when the first market was built. Since then it has grown till now it fills a large area almost as large as the residential district.
Tourism
Everyone who lives in Nemanoi society already comes to the market on a daily basis and the planet doesn't get many visitors. When our heroes visit Neman they will come to the market because that is where everyone is and if you want to talk to anyone that is where you need to go to find them.
