Dei Worship
The temple is near the palace in Kentrolis. This is where the priest keeps the wine and the cup of Dei under armed guard. Dei infuses his essence into the wine in the cup of Dei. When this cup is drank at the coronation ceremony of a new Emperor that Emperor becomes the embodiment of Dei. When the Emperor dies, Dei returns his essence to the cup to await the next Emperors coronation.
The civilian population worship the Emperor and believe him to be the same as their god. This is how the Emperor controls the populace and maintains complete obedience.
