Koshi Orat

This is a life affirming tradition in Itheria that means that a soldier or dignitary who has survived battles and is now old enough to want to die decides that they want to die at the hand of an enemy instead of dying in a bed at hospital or home. So they prepare through a religious ceremony and declare Koshi Orat to their family and friends. They then have a farewell party and go off to battle with the military on a maneuver against an enemy they have chosen. They can choose how they want to give their life, many times it is a sacrificial act for an important mission or sometimes they just walk into the enemy camp. However they choose to end their life history remembers them as a war hero who died in battle.
