Adric Serves on the Brightlight
Adric served with Raki on the Brightlight during his mandatory service years. During this time they visit Adrics home planet of Nemani. While they are there the Watchers Eye gate opens and a small ship comes through from the Myrios universe. When Raki opens communication Adric recognizes the facial features of his god the Watcher and responds appropriately. After some time he has a conversation with Elendril and discovers that his people have been worshipping an alien who is long dead and that the race that he once led has been under oppression for nearly 2000 years. Now that race the Byni would like to reestablish trade with them and build the trade empire that their ancestor wanted to build. Elendril is thrilled that Nemani is thriving and has such a great business ethic. They talk about whether to tell the Nemanoi that Elendril is not their god and risk a planetwide crisis of faith or to play along for now at least and focus instead on getting the trade systems set up.

Adril and Elendril talk about how the Nemanoi have made the Byni into gods and how Elendril is going to approach the Nemanoi knowing this
Adril comes away from the conversation with a crisis of faith because he now knows that his "god" is actually just an alien, however the Byni need help and Adric can't imagine leaving them alone to deal with the problems caused by the Itherians.
Adril makes the decision to reenlist in the Alliance fleet and join the Electhor's new mission to go through the gate and help the people in the previous Itherian empire.
