Overview

Eren is the largest region in terms of land area. Its fertile environment and agricultural-friendly terrain make it highly habitable, which explains why it has the largest population and most communities in the realm. Long ago, the ancestors of the current dragonkin Empire ransacked and later settled the region. Dragons have left a deep cultural and historical mark, shaping Eren's identity more than any other group. They are considered the dominant presence in the region’s towns and cities, even though humans and other races often make up about half the population alongside the dragonkin.

Climate

Eren is a large region with a diverse climate that varies by location. In the northern, flatter areas, the mild temperatures and windy valleys stand out. In contrast, the mountainous regions experience colder temperatures as the altitude increases, with residents adapting to thin air, strong winds, and snowy winters. Snow from the mountains often drifts down, and storms bring rain or snow to the central and southern forests. Summers in Eren are warm but rarely scorching, with intense heat lasting only a month or two each year. Overall, Eren experiences a wide range of weather and temperatures throughout the year.

Natural Resources

Eren is renowned for its abundant and large clusters of mana crystals, which grow more plentifully here than anywhere else. This phenomenon is evident in places like Asur Misoa, a valley adorned with towering, glowing spires of mana crystals. Besides mana crystals, Eren produces livestock and animal products for both export and domestic use. Building stones like marble, granite, and slate are mined from regional quarries and are ideal for construction. The region is rich in common metals like iron and copper, as well as minerals formed under the high-pressure conditions of its central mountains. Eren's fertile land supports the cultivation of a wide variety of crops, both common and specialized. Moreover, while not a natural resource, Eren is home to the world's largest community of sellswords, mercenaries, and wandering knights, many of whom travel or are hired to work abroad.

Society

The Drekaya Empire rules over the entire region, with dragonkin culture deeply influencing the social life of towns and cities. Dragonkin make up much of the middle and upper classes, often boasting noble lineages. Lords and aristocrats maintain complex social networks for both business and social standing, frequently competing for status.

Many seeking stability or prestige find work under local nobles, wandering knights, scholars, or mages, all of whom are highly valued by the aristocracy. The vast wilderness of Eren also provides opportunities for those who prefer adventure, with careers as mercenaries, caravan guards, or monster hunters being common.

Despite the dominant presence of dragonkin, Eren is a remarkably diverse region. The Commonwealth is primarily composed of humans and wood elves, with smaller populations of dryads and other races from distant lands. Unicorns, once abundant in southern Eren, are now believed to be extinct.
