Northacre

A humble farming town with a big temple to an old earth spirit once worshipped by wood elves. It's quiet life has been interrupted multiple times by supernatural threats. It's people hang in the balance and strive to protect their own in an evolving world.
Northacre is a humble farming village that rests on the northern plains of the Drekaya Empire. It is a quiet and hardworking community, surrounded by sprawling fields of wheat, barley, and root vegetables that sway gently in the cool, persistent winds of the region. The village is modest and unassuming, but its defining feature—the Temple of Elderleaf—stands as a grand and solemn reminder of a time when the nature spirit Elderleaf was revered as a guardian and guide.

Northacre’s charm lies in its simplicity. The village consists of cozy, thatched-roof cottages and sturdy barns scattered around a central square with a communal well. Dirt roads connect the village to surrounding farms, and the occasional sound of livestock or a farmer’s call carries on the breeze. The seasons shape life here, with planting, harvesting, and festivals marking the rhythm of the year.

Just outside the village, atop a broad, gently sloping hill known as Verdant Rise, the Temple of Elderleaf dominates the landscape. Built long ago by ancient devotees, the temple is an architectural marvel, even in its current state of weathered grandeur. The temple is constructed of smooth, moss-covered stone. Legend holds that Elderleaf, a benevolent nature spirit, once walked these lands, protecting the village and ensuring the prosperity of its people. The temple served as both a place of worship and a sanctuary for those seeking guidance or aid. Though Elderleaf's presence has faded into myth, the villagers refused to dismantle the building when commanded by the Drekayan Empire, convincing them to allow the temple as a site of reverence, believing her spirit still watches over them.

Though small and seemingly ordinary, Northacre feels imbued with a subtle magic, as though the land itself holds the memory of Elderleaf’s care. About a year ago however, a shadowy cabal of nefarious cultists secretly took refuge in the old and untouched building. They used it's hallowed halls and many underground rooms as a hub to conduct many evil rituals and expiraments. Thoguh these cultists are now gone, removed thanks to the efforts of a local guild of adventurers, many in Northarce still fear the aftershock of those vents. Emboldened by both this as well as a shocking murder conducted by a mysterious werewolf, Northacre is now known to have taken up measures to defend itself and it's eople more activley. Members of the notorious Bell Family lent aid to the town, helping them construct and forge weapons and town defenses that help to keep Northacre safe in an ever evolving world.
