Frontier

Once a stop-gap town for people traveling from Astana to Lindin back when they were part of the same kingdom. It transformed into the launching base for King Shamos's war efforts, the farthest reaching town near Astana, where his forces fly off towards.
Frontier is a city that embodies Lindin’s transformation from a principality to a kingdom of ambition and power. Situated far to the west, Frontier was once a modest town on the windswept, dusty plains. In its early days, it served as a vital stopover for travelers journeying between Lindin and Astana, back when Lindin was still a principality under Astana’s influence. This strategic position gave it an initial surge of growth, attracting traders, adventurers, and settlers who saw opportunity in its wild, untamed lands.

Over time, as Lindin declared independence and evolved into a formidable kingdom, Frontier underwent a dramatic transformation. Recognizing the city’s geographic advantage and vast open plains, Lindin’s rulers chose Frontier as the hub for its burgeoning military airship fleet. The once-quaint town is now a bustling epicenter of military activity, brimming with airship docks, hangars, and engineering facilities. Massive factories churn out the parts and technology required to maintain and upgrade Lindin’s fleet, while rows of sleek, lightning-powered airships stand ready for battle against Astana.

Frontier, once a vibrant crossroads of diversity and opportunity, has seen its character change dramatically under the weight of Lindin's war efforts. In its heyday, the city boasted a population as varied as the lands from which its settlers and travelers came. However, the relentless demands of the war against Astana have hollowed out this once-thriving community. The King’s army, in dire need of manpower to support its ambitious campaigns, has quietly conscripted large portions of Frontier’s population. The draft has disproportionately targeted the city’s underrepresented and marginalized groups, pulling the poor, tengu laborers, defleo mechanics, beastfolk workers, and even enslaved sun elves into the ranks of the military. For many, there is little choice—resistance means imprisonment or worse.
