The origins of Eirilys are steeped in mystery, its history fragmented and enigmatic even to the most dedicated scholars. What is known is that its foundations were laid by elven settlers, who sailed from distant lands like Suna and Astana to the icy shores of Eiri. The ships arrived on the Edurne Flatlands, where the elves hunted the abundant marine life of the region. Seeking refuge from the bitter cold, they established a small outpost in the mountains—an outpost that would grow into the grand city of Eirilys.

The early settlers’ fortunes shifted when they encountered the Frostmaiden, an enigmatic ice spirit and guardian of the legendary Ice Gate. The Frostmaiden, impressed by the elves’ perseverance, formed an alliance with them. Through her guidance and protection, the elves harnessed the region’s magical and natural resources to transform their humble outpost into a thriving kingdom. Over centuries, Eirilys grew into a marvel of architectural and magical ingenuity, its soaring spires and frost-glass domes gleaming under the perpetual winter sky. Now, Eirilys is the crowning jewel of the frozen lands of Eiri, its culture a blend of elven refinement and the hardy resilience demanded by its icy environment. Its people, a mixture of elves and humans, thrive despite the dangers that encircle them, drawing strength from the legacy of their ancestors and the ever-watchful presence of the Frostmaiden. Eirilys owes much of its growth and renown to the daring exploits of its elven hunters, whose legendary skills in tracking, slaying, and harvesting the massive creatures of the frozen expanse have become the stuff of myth.
