Darkwater Bay

A rainy trading port city that has been the front-row seat to multiple large-scale naval battles. The deep blue waters off the coast are supposedly infused with malevolent energies left behind by all the death the waters have seen.
Darkwater Bay is a rain-soaked Lindin port city steeped in history, maritime lore, and an air of foreboding. Known for its bustling docks and thriving trade routes, the city has long been a hub of commerce, where merchants from across the seas converge to exchange goods. However, its legacy is as much defined by its shadows as its prosperity, with tales of danger, death, and the supernatural woven into its identity.

The port’s history is scarred by its long struggle with the infamous Storm Pirates, marauders who plagued Lindin’s shipping lanes for decades. Darkwater Bay was a frequent target of their raids, its waters serving as the stage for countless naval skirmishes. The most infamous of these conflicts culminated in one of the last recorded battles against the Storm Pirates. This decisive clash saw Lindin's navy, bolstered by the kingdom’s technological innovations, finally drive the pirates to disband or flee, securing the port’s waters after years of turmoil. The scars of these battles linger in the memories of the city’s people, and the wreckage of shattered ships still occasionally surfaces along the coast as if the sea itself remembers.

Darkwater Bay was also a key point in the naval campaign when the forces of Suna and Eren attempted to sail reinforcements to Astana. Their fleet was met with fierce resistance, culminating in a heavy and chaotic battle near the port. The echoes of cannon fire and the screams of sailors still seem to reverberate in the mists that hang over the water, fueling the city’s superstitious reputation. Locals believe the bay is infused with the sinister energy of hundreds of sailors who have perished in its stormy embrace, their terrifying deaths out at sea infusing the water with malevolent energies. On stormy nights, when the waves crash against the cliffs and the rain lashes the docks, some claim to see strange lights wisping the shore or hear mournful cries carried on the wind. These tales have earned Darkwater Bay an unsettling mystique, drawing those intrigued by the supernatural even as it warns away the faint of heart.
