Corvetta City

The port city where most of Drekaya's standing navy is. Notorious for it's shipyards where Drekayan warships are produced and fitted to serve. Population has lots of sailors and fihin industry.
Corvetta City is the backbone of Drekaya’s naval forces. Its shipyards, sprawling along the city’s expansive harbor, are famed for crafting vessels that combine durability, speed, and firepower. The city is home to the Drekayan Naval Command, where admirals and captains strategize to protect the kingdom’s western coast and shipping lanes. For centuries, Corvetta City was locked in a tumultuous battle with the Lapis Corsairs, a notorious fleet of pirates who raided the western coast. The Corsairs, known for their self-styled “professional” conduct, were as infamous for their tact and code of honor as they were for ruthlessness. The Lapis Corsairs disrupted trade and pillaged coastal settlements, constantly threatening Drekaya’s maritime economy. Despite their organized facade, they were cunning adversaries who thrived on exploiting weaknesses in the kingdom’s defenses all along the Waytos Coast.

Corvetta City fortified its harbor with massive stone sea walls and watchtowers equipped with ballistae and trebuchets. The city’s naval forces adopted specialized tactics to counter the Corsairs’ swift and elusive ships. Corvette worked with other towns and cities along the coast to try and proliferate these defenses to those towns as well, eventually giving them an edge against the Corsairs, who relied on speedy and efficient raids to make away with success. The rivalry reached its climax during the Battle of Azure Bay, where Corvetta’s fleet, led by Admiral Ryn Altherion, outmaneuvered the Corsairs in their own waters. This decisive victory shattered the Corsair fleet and marked the decline of their influence along the Waytos Cast.

Corvetta City’s people are deeply tied to the sea. Their traditions include festivals celebrating naval victories, ship-blessing ceremonies, and reenactments of famous battles. The annual Corsair’s Challenge, a regatta and maritime contest, draws competitors and spectators from across Drekaya, honoring both the city’s naval heritage and its past struggles. Despite its strategic importance, Corvetta City remains a place of warmth and resilience, where the echoes of crashing waves and bustling docks tell the story of a city that thrives in harmony with the sea.
