Grakkus the Hutt

Attention! CANON/LEGENDS CHARACTER: Click here for Wookiepedia   Grakkus Jahibakti Tingi was a minor hutt lord who lived on Nar Shaddaa during the era of The Galactic Empire. He controlled the area known as Hutta town until he was replaced by Arok the Hutt. Grakkus was a famed collector of Jedi artefacts and even his palace in hutta town was designed to reseble the former Jedi Temple on Coruscant.  

History

  In 19 AGE The Crimson Storm approached Grakkus to sell a Jedi holocron. Grakkus paid 15,000 credits for the holocron and the information of where they found it, a backwater trade planet called Spintir. Later Grakkus would pay handsomely for The Empire to vacate Spintir so that he could send his people to plunder it's jedi temple freely.   The Crimson Storm began taking work semi-regularly from Grakkus. They first agreed to participate in a fighting tournement he was holding in his own personal arena. This is where Wav and Kokomi met Tenthaal Baln who was acting as Gamemaster.   Later The Crimson Storm would discover what Grakkus had done to the Spintir temple and the subsequent dissapearance of Hethan Romund and Mathazer Trenor. They sought a meeting with Grakkus to discuss it. Grakkus explained that the pair had chosen to fight against his actions. Trenor had died in defence of the temple and Romund had been captured. Grakkus agreed to release Romund to them if they aided him on a job.   Grakkus hired them to recover The Staff of XoXaan, an ancient artefact which was then being transported to him before it was stolen. He suspected the theft had been orchestrated by one of his rivals, Arok the Hutt. The Crimson Storm managed to recover the staff but decided the power it held was to dangerous for either Hutt to wield. They broke the staff and returned the pieces to Grakkus, Wav managing to devieve Grakkus into believing it was damaged during the theft.   Grakkus then invited the crew to spectate in his next arena fight. Grakkus claimed he was pitting Kongo the Disembowler - his personal champion rancor - against The Last Jedi - a young sandy-haired human who he'd captured while the crew were retrieving the Staff of Xoxaan. The crew had also noticed that Tenthaal had dissapeared and his post as gamemaster had been filled by a red-skinned humanoid. During the arena fight the gamemaster intervened, revealing himself to be Kreel, a sergeant sent by the Empire to capture the Jedi and arrest Grakkus.   In the chaos, The Crimson Storm managed to flee with Grakkus back to his palace while imperial reinforcements arrived. Seargeant Kreel followed them but was bested by Wav. They made their escape on Grakkus' emergency escape ship, only just out of reach of an unknown black-clad imperial who attempted to pull their ship down with the force. The Crimson Storm and Grakkus visited his safehouse where he contacted The Hutt Council and told them what had happened. Afterward he speculated that the council had allowed The Empire to enter Hutt space and use Grakkus as a scapegoat. Grakkus went into hiding believing he would be hunted by both the Hutt Cartel and The Empire.
