Bentley Ardand

Admiral Bentley Ardand was a male Human imperial officer who The Crimson Storm killed over Ryloth. Ardand was masking the location of Dinek'Glie's space station using the empires resources. Before his death, Admiral Ardand had been tightening the empire's grip around Ryloth believing that finally bringing order to the planet and ridding it of Cham Syndulla would put him in the emperor's good graces. Ardand was highly ambitious and selfish, hoping to achieve the rank of Grand Admiral but Dinek'Glie had been manipulating the admiral to fulfill his own ends.   In his mid-thirties, Ardand would be considered young for an imperial admiral. He had a wide face and sharp features with a slightly receding hairline.  

History

 

Military Career

  Bentley Ardand rose to the rank of admiral quickly due to the intervention of Dinek'Glie. Glie was a slaver and kingpin of The Virile Chain who Ardand had formed a business friendship with. They agreed that Ardand would ignore Glie's activities and in return Glie would use his influence with imperial senators to bolster Ardands military achievements leading to faster promotions. Ardand was an ambitious man. His ultimate goal was to achieve the rank of Grand Admiral, a position very few in the imperial navy had ever held.   Shortly after his promotion to admiral, the imperial senate was dissolved by the Emperor and it become more difficult for Glie to maneuver politically. Ryloth had been one of the empire's most troublesome assets since its formation, and Cham Syndulla was a blight that no imperial officer seemed able to get rid of. Glie suggested that if Ardand were the one to finally bring order to Ryloth, the emperor himself would surely take notice.   Ardand pushed for a transfer to Ryloth where he began controlling the planet with an iron fist. By 20AGE he had almost completely militarized its government and was making fast progress in subduing The Free Ryloth Movement. By this time Glie had begun constructing his space station orbiting the moon of Or Tuma and Ardand agreed to use the empire's resources to keep it secret.  

Death

  The Crimson Storm came to Ryloth to uncover the location of Dinek'Glie and the other Virile Chain kingpins. They discovered that Glie had some influence over the imperial leadership in the area so they joined forces with Cham Syndulla to infiltrate Admiral Ardand's personal star destroyer, The Ultimator. The Free Ryloth Movement hijacked the engines of the ship while the Crimson Storm took the bridge. Wav coerced Ardand into giving up the security lock for the encoded files on the ship's computer. Once they had the files relating to Glie's space station, they killed the admiral and everyone else on the bridge after setting it on a crash course into another light cruiser.
