The Sea of Dreams

Geography

The sea of Dreams, also known as The Well of Magic, is a plane within the astral sea that resembles an infinite sea of multicolored clouds made of the subconscious thoughts of all living beings. Within this expanse resides isles that seem to be made of the cloudlike substance of the realm that suddenly became new materials, allowing for anything to exist within this realm. Most of these isles are created by intense subconscious thoughts of sentient beings. Some could resemble native homes of lost tribes dreaming of going back, others would house recreations of battles from legends that had a great impact on some society. In addition, ones connection to this realm is amplified within dreams, as ones astral self enters the realm and trully experiences what one dreams here.   Creatures that somehow manage to enter this realm have all their thoughts manifested within this realm, making it both incredible and dangerous. It is just as easy to manifest yourself a ship capable of travelling this realm as it was to think of ones fears and have them try to drag you under the cloudy waves.  

The Well of Magic

The sea of Dreams serves a double purpose, one as a vessel for the collective subconscious and its unpredictable effects, and two as the source from which all magic comes. Magic casters and objects have their origin closely related to this realm, for example all spells come from someone imagining a desired effect, it manifesting within this ocean before being pulled into the material plane. Creatures that are in some way magical also have a link to this realm, as they dont only have a soul, but also an animae, a manifestation of the concept that they embody which goes back to the sea of dreams upon death.  

Inhabitants

The Dreamer of Possibilities claims this realm as her Dominion, within which she observes the dreams of mortals and ensures none can exploit the realm to affect the collective unconscious. Other than this deity and those who came from other planes, all creatures within the Sea of Dreams aren't real, they all exist at the whims of thoughts not their own and disappear as quickly as they appear.  

Angering the god of magic is the last thing anyone could wish for.
