Bromdam
Bromdam, also know as The Forgotten's end is a permanent demiplane located within the Sea of Dreams where the souls of mortals are drawn when they die.
Neath the waves of dreams
The Land
Bromdam is presumed to be the bottom of the seamingly bottomless Sea of Dreams. The majority of the plane resembles the ocean floor, seamounts and abyssal plains both obvious features of the realm. The sky too, gives the feeling of being underwater, as it shimmers in shades of blue and Turquoise that look greatly like waves. However no matter how it looks, there are no effects on its inhabitants that would indicate being underwater, none lack air, can float or even feels like being in water. A strange coral grows in many places within this land, however none know how it can live within such conditions. The most obvious characteristic of the realm however, was a light fog that was ever-present.Home of the Departed
The City of Mist
The only significant landmark within the plane was a city one would always end up at, the City of Mist. A grand city whose purpose is to be the final resting place of all mortals. Those who end up here spend their time within the misty roads of the city interacting with one another and reflecting upon what they did in life. A soul remains for as long as it is remembered outside, Giving people of renown and legends much longer to reflect. As one would be forgotten, their soul would begin to "dissipate" into the fog that permeates Bromdam as they slowly lose their individuality. This fog would then seep into the magical potential of the realms, essentially allowing their souls to go back into the world as part of the next generations. The Inhabitants
Bromdam is the Astral Dominion of Anima, the Guardian of The Forgotten. She oversees the good functionning of the city as well as the passing of souls. She is often seen within the streets of the city discussing with mortals about their regrets. There are three distincts types of souls within the city: the Remembered, the Forgotten and the Prime. In addition to them, from time to time one may meet a devil residing within, as they forced a pact upon the gods to be allowed to negotiate with souls to try and convince them without trickery to become devils themselves, in exchange for not sieging the realm with their own. Demons on the other hand would periodically launch attacks on the city to take souls by force but where mostly repelled by Prime souls. The Remembered
The most common type of soul, Remembered are those who recently died or did enough to be reminisced upon for some time. The soul looks a lot like it did as a mortal clothed in whatever they were most confortable in. They don't need anything to sustain themselves anymore but often ignore this, either by reflex or to try to keep a semblance of normalcy until they "dissipate". Most come to terms with their death relatively quickly and simply enjoy the time they have left with those they may have known in life. There was one exception to this, those who had commited grave atrocities in their life are all exiled from the city, doomed to wander empty lands with nothing but their thoughts until they are finaly forgotten. The Forgotten
Not all who die wish to be reincarnated, those who fear to dissipate strongly enough become known as the Forgotten, souls without remaining attachments to the material plane but who refuse to go on. Once no one remembers you, your existence becomes one lacking in individuality, the Forgotten are no exception. Their appearances dissipates to nothing but smoke as they slowly forget who they were and wander Bromdam as nothing but a vague form with a desire to not be consigned to oblivion. While they appear harmless, one should never touch one as they would then attempt to imprint what remains of who they were within your soul in a desperate attempt to remain "alive".Prime Souls
The rarest of souls, those whose actions in life are so grand that they may never be forgotten, the Prime are souls that will never dissipate. As such they are powerfull and invoke respect within the walls of the city of mist. Their appearance is often warped into more grandiose versions of themselves to shadow the tales people remember them by. When a Prime soul comes to be, it is offered two choices by Anima, to either remain within Bromdam and become one of its protectors as well as a guide for the Remembered, or to go to the dominion of the god they were most faithfull to, to live within their realm and slowly become an angel, an envoy of said god.
