Kteiroan Caveback

Kteiroan Caveback

Type: Herbivore Grazer (Herd Animal)
Environment: Frozen plains, subglacial caves, geothermal vents

Description & Lore

The Caveback is a massive, thick-furred mammal resembling a cross between an ancient musk ox and a tundra bison. Covered in dense, layered wool and a heavy dorsal shield of tough keratin plates, the Caveback survives by grazing on deep-rooted ice-moss and hardy lichen found in Kteiroa’s geothermal caves and sparse open plains.

Their broad hooves and powerful shoulders help them break through ice crusts to uncover food. They gather in herds of 10–50 for warmth and protection, led by older matriarchs that know the ancient migration tunnels connecting Kteiroa’s underground grazing sites.

The Caveback’s thick hide and fatty flesh make it a valuable target not only for the Frost Stalker, but also for Aslan hunters and settlers who prize its meat, hide, and bone for tools and clothing.
