Silent Garden

Due to the divine blessing Eldath placed on the pool, whether by her own intention or by chance, the area comprising the Silent Garden is unnaturally fertile, allowing a variety of plants to take root. However, that fertility also requires diligence for any gardners, who must constantly prune weeds and ensure that no one species is outcompeting the others.

The site of the Silent Garden was discovered by Callista Miursa in the 1480s, as she was trying to find a place to use her hands and reconnect with her farming roots. After it was discovered, Callista and her son Arcus spent most of that decade working their together, turning the once overgrown area into a flourishing and colorful garden, full of a variety of flowers, including rarities such as the Grizzly Tide. During this time, the goddess Eldath took notice of Arcus as a person of potentially special interest.   In 1491, Callista was magically stolen away from the garden by the hag Zilly Redwood as part of a longstanding curse placed on Arcus. Distraught, Arcus abandoned the garden.   In 1494, Arcus returned to the garden, finding it overgrown with weeds, and he set to work bringing it back to its former glory. Doing so once again brought Eldath's attention, who blessed Arcus with a bracelet made from a Grizzly Tide petal that gave him a facsimile of a voice. Arcus continued working on the garden for the next few years, attempting to become a follower of Eldath.   From mid-1497 to early 1498, the garden was again abandoned when Arcus joined the Lost Star Detectives to end the Damnation of Elturel. During his adventures, Arcus saved his mother from Zilly Redwood, and the two returned to the garden in the years after Elturel was saved. However, Arcus' adventures had changed him, leaving him bereft of Eldath's blessing. Nevertheless, the two Miursas endeavored to again rebuild the garden in reverance to the garden's goddess.
