The hour draws near as World Ember comes to fill us with a warmth that will bring our desire for world-building through this long and cold winter. But for now, we set up what we plan on doing during that whole time and other ideas along the way. So now we get down to business and spill everything we are planning, get everyone excited, and get our plans straight.
Pledge Time
So, like always, I'm going for the max number always I'm pretty sure I can get a lot done, knowing the mistakes that I've made in the past. This year is solely going to be on the sagas this time around, to be more focused on certain ideas without multitasking between worlds. So here is my plans on where I am heading off this time since Ive been doing is editing old articles for most of the year and maintain my year-long challenge
Challengathon, A Year of Challenges that will be going to be going into its final months in December, so let's see if anyone wants to jump in by then.
Okay, this year I am going to be exploring another underdeveloped region of my world, being the continent of Dageth, a place solely ruled over by non-human races and filled with magic. So there will be elves, dwarves, orcs, and many others that make their home here with little to no human interference influencing them. Leading to interesting dynamics as they live in a land where magic is as common as breathing. This will be centered around nations, factions, and locations, with anything else I can think of along the way. It will be a place that is completely different compared to regions that are dominated by humans. Ideas involving magic might also come into play along the way to show how it has changed how life exists on the continent.
Bada Bing Bada Bingo
Okay, I never suspected I'd be playing bingo to write something on World Ember, and it was a bit tricky on how I was going to make it work, but I managed to do it. So here it is, my plans for World Ember.
Playlist
Okay, so consider I'm going to write about races, Elves, and Dwarves. In going to be looking for music that fits the mold with them, so Wind Rose, being all about Dwarves, is a good fit. Elvish songs can be various ones from the lord of the Rings soundtrack and various others I can scrounge up. Celtic music is also a good choice since it's all about the natural world itself. As for any other music, it will have to be tribal and whimsical to help get the vibe going.

Schedule
My schedule is a bit wonky most of the time when it comes to December, so I will have to alter it on the go for most of the month. However, nighttime has always been my time of peace in a busy life, so that will be my only real time of work. I'll also be writing in short lengths when I have free time in the day, just in case I doze off or feel too tired to write. Thankfully, napping and warm showers keep me going when I need them. After so many years of holiday madness, you just get used to writing on the go nowadays. If only December were a lot quieter, my brain could actually think for once.
People To Meet
Well, there are plenty of people to meet in this side of the world, a lot are elves that have lived for centuries, attempting to maintain power to there dwindling power. Dwarves are pretty much isolationist that rarely leaving the mountains and hills as they seek to maintain what's left of their civilization.
Research
Much of the research I've been going through mainly involves going through a lot of old school fantasy like Tolkien, since he brought modern fantasy, but then I remember that I studied a lot of Germanic folklore, so I went through a lot of that to get a better idea of what made these creatures what they are now. I have also been exploring more into magic more since the place I'm going into is going to be full of it. Now I'm just trying to explore more in various literature, movies, and video games that deal with these things as well, involving Elves, Dwarves, and Orcs more. This is to create a more unique take on my version of these races to expand on in my world.
It's always very interesting to try and adapt well known races and themes to your own perspective, so I'm intrigued to see what you'll do with your elves, dwarves and orcs :) Best of luck with WE and have fun!
